Happy 30th Birthday!

Yes, I'm finally 30! Now I can offically request "Thirty Something" to be place on Steve's NetFlix queue. I celebrated by working and spending the morning and afternoon with my students, wouldn't have asked for anything different. Where else can you get "Happy Birthday" sung to you 5 times in one day?!

After work I awaited Steve and his excellent homemade German Chocolate Birthday cake. He really impressed me and put a lot of love and hours into this cake. It was delicious.

We headed to Mom's where I celebrated with Edwin, Mom, Steve, Pauline, Katelin and Baby Kristen. We ate, drank and shared old family stories...."Rememeber when Mariam..."

It has been awhile

Well, I officially will be moving to a new apartment unit as of this Saturday, the 23rd. It's been a nice short run here on Broadway! I'm going to miss my 1st apt. and all the locals, bars and trash...

I also had my first Christmas here with Mom and Edwin! Im going to miss my local liquor store, Tommy's and being 2 blocks from Alamitos Beach, which I swam in twice, because it was so hot last summer, but never again, well, then again, I can't make any promises.

My new place is closer to the University and about 1.8 miles away from Steve's. I have a garden and patio and I can GRILL! Which was hard to find with many apartments I looked at. And it's month to month!

As for this week, I start the packing and cleaning process, to guarantee my security deposit back!

I have some patio furniture that will be placed on Craigslist and I am definitely hiring a pair of movers to help with my furniture.

That about does it.

I'm now going to enjoy the rest of my MLK holiday on this rainy Long Beach Monday.
